When in Rome, Italy

Rome

When I graduated from high school we were allowed to organize a trip. All the other years before us did a trip in our country, Belgium, or just outside the border like France, Germany or the Netherlands.

We were the first ones to organize a trip further away and we choose Rome! Which was a pretty big deal back in the day, haha.

Our class was tiny and it only consisted out of 10 people so it was easier to get a group of 10 somewhere instead of a group of 20.
We had to organize everything by ourselves, which is always a challenge for 17 year olds.

We were there only for a week but it was one of those trips you will never forget! So after falling in love with Rome I was able to convince my mom to go back to Rome.

We stayed in a bed and breakfast a little bit out of the city. Now that we think about it we should have got something more into the city because it took us forever to get there. But the hosts were lovely though.

We were there for a few days so we only did the big attractions but I definitely want to go back soon! That means after Canada, haha.

Here are a couple of pictures I really liked from back in the day ;-). I hope you like them as much as I do.

Have you every been to a country or city where you had to go back and show your friend or family member? Tell me more about it.

My friend Naomi, from Naomi in Wonderland, has been to Rome this year and posted a couple interesting posts about it. So check it out here!

Rome is zo’n mooie stad.
