Christmas presents for travelers 2016

Can you believe it’s already December?! This is also the month of Christmas and of course presents.
I have already done all my shopping but I know most people haven’t yet. So if you have a friend or family member that is a traveler and you are not sure what to buy them then here are some ideas. Christmas presents for travelers

This year I also divided the presents in two categories;

For the soon to be traveler:

  • Gorillapod:

I actually don’t have a gorillapod but I did ask one for Christmas this year! I mostly travel solo and don’t like the selfie stick so I think this would be the perfect present to make amazing pictures.

  • Travel shower essentials:

Go to Lush and buy a shampoo bar, shower bar, etc. Buy the non-liquids so they can use it longer and they can even put it in their hand luggage. It doesn’t have to be of Lush of course. There are a lot of amazing products out there.

  • Travel sleeping set:

Make, or buy, a sleeping set for on the plane.
Buy a cute bag and put an eye mask in there with a neck pillow and earplugs so they can sleep easier on the plane. They can also use the eye mask and earplugs when they will be staying in hostels.

  • Travel size games:

You can give them a deck of cards or any other travel size game. You never know when they will be stuck in a hostel/hotel on a rainy day.
Example: the ‘Anywhere travel guide’ looks fun to play.

  • Survival kit:

Make a survival kit with funny stuff in there. For example if you know they will be camping make a kit with a whistle, waterproof matches, dry food, etc. Let your imagination go all out.

For the temporarily stay at home traveler:

Every traveler has a world map or you would think they have one. This one is a little bit different. In this folder you will find 8 small maps of continents and a journal. You can scratch the places you have been and write when you were there. I have this one and I am planning on putting them in a frame and hang them ones I have an appartement.

Christmas presents for travelers

There are so many amazing travel books that it is hard to choose just one! For example the Lonely Planet the World and if they like photography you can give them the book ‘reisfotografie’ of Laura Vink, sorry only in Dutch. I have asked the last one for Christmas myself!

  • Mug:

Get or make a mug with travel quotes. You can also get them a mug of the country of their next adventure.

Canada mug

  • Calendar:

Steal some pictures and make them a calendar. You can also an inspirational calendar of their next adventure.
But if you are not up to that there are enough country calendars you can buy. The one of National Geographic looks really interesting.

  • City map poster:

If you know which city they absolutely love you can get a poster. You can just buy one or make it more personal with coordinates. Mapiful is an example of these wonderful posters.

I hope you liked my ideas and if you are still not sure about these then check out my list of last year!
